Fraise des Bois

My mom, sisters, brothers and I foraged for wild strawberries last week of June, first week of July every summer in Maine fields.
While raising my young girls, I'd pack our old chevy C-10 pickup with lunches, insect repellent, plenty to drink and drove off the beaten path on washboard dirt roads to places I would not dare to today. It was hard work but so appreciated in winter.

Thanks Judy! There was ONE lone strawberry at the nursery...sure brought back memories. Spent countless hours picking growing up. I still forage but those are beyond our "reach". It's a 12 hour trip to return for a picking session. ha ha #11991867

Hi Teresa! Thank you! Yes, the wild fraise des bois is a taste experience one never forgets. We loved them with simple milk poured over with a pinch of s sugar. What I would give for that taste again! #11991988Dolores Neilson August 13, 2022
